The position of lesbian,gay, bisexual and transgender (LGB and T) people in Britain has been significantly advanced in recent years. However, there is no room for complacency, as the problems that remain are substantial.
The TUC has launched a new guide for union reps on how to combat homophobia in the workplace. It offers guidance on a range of issues from challenging unacceptable behaviour and language, to common workplace issues and good practice.
The Equality Challenge Unit has a number of case studies on supporting trans staff, including two new ones, sharing the experiences of staff undergoing gender reassignment.
