Has your mental health and wellbeing been affected by the pandemic? Many people have, including some of your staff and students. Have you thought about the ways that you can create space for staff and students to talk about their issues and concerns? Did you know that there are a range of resources to help support the mental health and wellbeing of staff and students? A free easy to read leaflet might be a useful resource for you to circulate.
Having good mental health helps us relax more, achieve more and enjoy our lives more. But this has been a difficult few months for all of us. Not surprisingly, the Covid pandemic has affected many people, increasing stress levels and causing or deepening mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression.
In my last equality news update, I wrote a longer news article about the impact of the pandemic, how you can help minimise this impact for staff and students, and a range of resources and support services that you can use to support this. If you missed this update, you can read it here
Every Life Matters has produced an excellent and easy to read leaflet on looking after yourself and others during these extraordinary times that we find ourselves in.
The leaflet includes
- looking after yourself
- beating corona anxiety
- managing your stress bucket
- jar of hope
- looking out for others
- spot the signs
You can download the leaflet here
