Negative attitudes to older people?

What’s the attitude of your staff to employing or managing older people? Have you seen recent government guidance that includes an employer toolkit to help employers better manage their workforce?
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published two documents as part of a range of improving opportunities for older people initiatives.
‘Employer attitudes to fuller working lives’ explores the attitudes of employers to retaining, retraining and recruiting workers aged 50 or over. You can download the report here
‘Help and support for older workers’ is practical guidance about employing older workers and working past 50. You can download the guidance here
The DWP has also published ‘Employer Toolkit: Guidance for Managers of Older Workers’. This is a resource offering guidance to managers of older workers. The information available details how employers can better manage their workforce, and by doing so, how they can capitalise on the UK’s changing demographics. You can download the toolkit here
