Stonewall workplace equality index – did you make it into the top 100 gay-friendly employers?

One FE college, five universities and a number of county councils have been named in Stonewall’s top 100 gay-friendly employers.
369 employers made a submission, representing public, private and third sectors; 100 organisations were chosen who achieved the highest scores for creating a safe and inclusive environment for their employees, customers, service users and stakeholders.
The college and universities are:
- Newham College of Further Education
- Liverpool John Moores University
- University of the West of England
- Cardiff University
- University of Liverpool
- University of Sheffield
A number of county councils were also named, including
- Leicestershire County Council
- Derbyshire County Council
- Suffolk County Council
- West Sussex County Council
- Hertfordshire County Council
I know that there is some great work in advancing sexual orientation taking place in colleges and universities – perhaps you did not get included because you did not make a submission? Put a note in your diary for next year.
