How did you vote in the referendum? In the aftermath, have you seen a rise in casual racism or xenophobia that unions, head teachers, and senior leaders are reporting? How are you using the agenda to promote fundamental British values to empower staff and students to stand up for injustice and inequality?
New duties regarding provision for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) came into force in September 2014. From May 2016, Ofsted has been carrying out local area inspections to assess how well a local area carries out its SEND duties. How well does your provision shape up? How about your young people with high levels of need?
Ofsted hit the headlines in January when the Chief Inspector, Sir Michael Wilshaw, made a statement on the wearing of the niqab (face veil). What do you and your staff think? Or are we getting side-tracked from a much, much bigger issue?
