TRANS-forming churches

Did you know that I have just published practical guidance for churches on trans inclusion? On behalf of the Open Church Network and with support from Stonewall, this guide helps churches understand what it means to welcome, value and include trans people. Interested in reading the guide?

In March 2018, I published a guide for churches on trans inclusion. On behalf of Open Church Network, and with support from Stonewall, ‘TRANS-forming churches, a practical guide for the inclusion of trans and gender non-conforming people’, is a guide designed to help churches on their journey of trans inclusion.  It contains practical guidance for people such as those involved in the welcome team, children’s work and home groups as well as information on appropriate language and loos.

The guide also includes:

• testimonies of people’s ‘lived experience’
• practical ways to ensure trans inclusion in churches
• a short exploration of what the Bible has to say about trans people together with a link for a more detailed discussion
• questions for churches / leaders to consider
• useful definitions / glossary of terms.
