LSIS revised specific duties guidance

In my December 2012 edition of equality news, I commented on the outcomes of a sampling exercise conducted by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). This looked at how public authorities in England have met their duty to publish equality information. A significant number of authorities were sampled, including 115 colleges; many colleges were not meeting their duties, and we performed, overall, relatively poorly. Updated, this guide is essential reading for anyone with responsibilities for meeting the Equality Act 2010 specific duties.
The practical guidance contains a one page overall summary, five pages of essential reading, and further pages answering frequently asked questions about the duties.
